Surprised myself!
So when I started this whole weight loss plan I went with slimming world because I figured hey you can still have big meals and snacks but seeing as these are my 2 biggest problems I don’t think it is right for me right now. I think the most important thing for me to do is to conquer these chocolate cravings etc.
So as I said in my last post I am starting the “No S” diet: no seconds (helps control portion size), no sweets (curb the treat habit) and no snacks (get you used to eating less basically) except for days that start with s - saturdays, sundays and special days
Now tbh I don’t completely agree with the no snacks thing, I think it is important to make sure I am not hungry BUT I am limiting myself to a maximum of 3 healthy snacks each day as in fruit and low fat yoghurts and the past 2 days I have only had 1 snack on each day lol.
I really have surprised myself because I thought doing something like slimming world would be more effective for me, but I find that once I have a treat the craving SOARS and I need MOOOOORRRREEE! lol so I think getting out of the habit of eating unhealthy snacks everyday is gonna be the best move for me! (also am surprised that surprised has an r in it lol I thought it was suprised until I double checked on google…)
So yesterday I did well (didn’t have a treat day though, seeing as it was my 1st day on the new plan and I messed up the rest of the week!) and I did well today too :) I had the most DELICIOUS lunch (can of tuna, 2 tbsps light mayo with chopped cucumber, lettuce, red pepper, spring onion on the tastiest jacket potato I have ever had!) and I am finding it isn’t as bad as I thought cutting portion sizes. Usually I will have 2 jacket potatoes but today I had just 1, and usually I cook enough pasta to have 2 bowls but today I had 1 bowl.
I am doing goooood
I have been a little hungry but nothing unbearable which is awesome. Also I am finding I appreciate my food more when I have it and take my time more with it which is definitely a great sign for long success! annnnd I can take each meal as it comes instead of messing up when I don’t plan ahead, I definitely like just having what I fancy at the time instead of sticking to a pre arranged plan so I can fit chocolate in etc.
Anyway I had better be off, I have an exam tomorrow afternoon and I still have a bit of revision to do! eeek! got my weigh in in the evening too so will report back on how that went and then I will have another weigh in on saturday morning at my boyfriend’s house (cuz he has a digital scale that works unlike my unrealiable analog 1 lol) Will have to buy a digital scale over summer, until then it may be fortnightly weigh ins when I go to the bfs (we alternate weeks that we go to each others houses lol).
See you guys soon x
I find it works better for me too , to avoid sweets all together. You’re right about the cravings. Once you get a taste of that stuff it can set you right off. That’s what I’ve been having trouble with lately…..a bit of chocolate, a bit of pie, some snacks…it just makes me go for more. I really have to get back to my original way of eating again. It worked best for me , and it was similar to what you’re trying to do . I’m struggling to get back to losing. Still stuck on this plateau…even gained a bit back this week. Time to put the brakes on that!
It sounds like you have clear rules and goals on your “No S diet” . I think that is one of the most important parts to reaching our weightloss goals.
Good choice in making adjustments - especially since this will be a new way of life - Way to stick with it and be persistent
You are still going in the right direction, you have to find what will work for you. But I like the sound of No S diet. I have been on the same plan but the S stands for something else LOL. -Dee
The main thing about making this stick is to find a plan that works for you, how you live and how you ear.
It sounds like this might be better for you than slimming world.
This sounds great, Lou! I agree that healthy snacks should be allowed.
